Magalawa Island

grenzy Filed Under: Labels: , , ,

Magalawa island is located at Palauig, Zambales. This island is inhabitated by friendly people and surrounded by variety of trees specially mangoes. It has creamy to white sand beach but not as fine as the sand in Boracay. (But I guess it is still above the ordinary.) . The water is very clear and calm where you can even typecast it as a lake. It is also abundant in starfish, sea urchins (so beware!). There are also seaweeds everywhere and you can't even swim far from the shore.

There are only two resort owners here, One is owned by the Armada and the other is by Ruiz (Mang Mulo is the caretaker of this). However there are stories from locals that Ms. Ruiz is the one who owns both and the Armadas just illegally settled a resort. Its actually a very long story and Im sure you'll hear that when you get there. Anyway, Both of them offers accomodation package and If you plan to go there make sure to contact one of them so that there's someone who could assist you just in case you get lost. It is also a must so you don't have to worry about where to get a boat etc. Its definitely not like going to anawangin or nagsasa where there are boatmen you could approach to take you there.

To get here one must travel about 6 hours (including trike and Boat ride). For commuters, there are actually two option.

Option1:
  •  Ride a bus bound to Sta. Cruz and get off at Masinloc Town Proper
  • Then walk to the port (or you may ride a tricycle if you want)
  • Ride a boat going to Magalawa (arranged with your contact person)

Option2:
  • Ride a bus bound to Sta. Cruz and get off at  Brgy. Pangolingan, Radyo veritas road
  • Ride a tricycle going to Luan
  • Ride a boat going to Magalawa (arranged with your contact person)

We actually did both. I mean we use option 2 to go there and the reverse of option 1 back to Manila. But I Advise you to take Option 1 back and forth because aside from the fact that it is easier, The tricycle in Pangolingan is very expensive!

If you want our detailed itinerary of Magalawa - Potipot  3D2N just comment here or message me

Though both camp didn't confirm anything since the deal is not yet sealed, One thing is for sure Pacquiao will fight on the first half of this year. And it would be very good if Its between the two best fighter of this decade.

Lets just wait for updates and hope for this fight to happen.
